Euro-Symbiose participates in the deployment of the “APQP Aeronautic” approach

Since 2015, Euro-Symbiose collaborates with the aeronautic industry on the Aeronautic APQP theme by developing a action-training operation on this new approach for the French aeronautic industry.

Indeed, as we said in a previous article, the aeronautic industry wished to adopt the APQP in order to anticipate the drifts linked to the development plan and to better control the deadlines, the conformity of products and deliverables, and therefore the development and production costs. The APQP, now and progressively, is deployed by all the major purchasers from the aeronautic: Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Ambraer.

This APQP approach which fits in classis project approaches, reinforces the notions of prevention and anticipation: its reinforces the consideration of project risks, the necessity of continue control by the measure of deliverables advancement (method green/yellow/red), the necessity of a regular reporting to the customer and top management, the necessity of a climbing process in case of hard points detected.

Our consultant Roland LUCQUIAUD took charge of the action animation « APQP in the aeronautic company”:

This action took place in two separate phases:

- 1st phase: alerting the content of aeronautic APQP guide and identifying the improvement in the functioning, organization and management of suppliers / co-contractors of this company.
- 2nd phase: defining the actions to apply in three pilot project which have been chosen in advance thanks to call for bids won by the firm. To do this, Roland Lucquiaud brought examples of external practices in order that the company could directly appropriate them and deploy them internally, but also cascade them towards its suppliers.

What are the results of this operation?

This action-training allowed to raise awareness among large number of people coming from different jobs within the group (design office, quality, method, purchases) on the content of APQP AERO guide written by the aeronautic profession.

Moreover, this action-training aimed at once to introduce, precise, illustrate the methods, tools and good practices to integrate internally in the development programs of this company, but also of its suppliers and co-contractors.

The APQP deployment is indeed to organize from the design to the industrialization of integrated systems to aircrafts, cascade to the participant equipment systems, and to the basic components of the nomenclature.

Overall, Euro-Symbiose has successfully designed an APQP Aeronautic action-training dedicated especially to this industrial in order to guide it at best. In the coming months, a monitoring should also be done in order to maximize this approach.

Thus, Euro-Symbiose contributes efficiently to the performance improvement of the entire aeronautic industry in the development control of new systems.
