The ambitious approach of Total E&P (Exploration & Production)

International integrated group, producer and supplier of energy, Total is the fifth international oil and gas company.
In order gain in efficiency, the group is engaged in 2014 in an ambitious approach to improving and sustaining a culture of performance. Euro-Symbiose has been chosen to accompany Total in this approach, with a first action perimeter turned toward the subsidiaries, such as those of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon. The selected consultants for this mission had to qualify – through simulations and survival internships - to be able to go on off-shore platforms.

Comment se déroule l’intervention ?

For each subsidiary, the intervention splits into three phases:

  • Ambition : defining the organization and the future operating modes by evaluating the development axes of improvement.
  • Design : applying the conclusions of ambitious approach, testing and setting up the solutions.
  • Implementation : deploying and carrying on the new organization.

The method used for each phase will follow the Lean principles.

At the same time, in order to sustain the engaged approaches and install a real improvement culture of performance, Eric Canu – Senior Vice-President of Euro-Symbiose – is currently working with the board of QHSE (Quality, Health, Security, Environment) on a training module addressed to train Performance Improvement Project Leaders who will continue the activities collected by the consultants. The first pilot of this training will take place in October in Congo.
