New this year – IATF 16949: 2016

Change for this autumn 2016 within the Quality standard from automotive industry: the launch of new standard for the quality management system which entitles now the IATF 16949 version 1.

This new standard will be published as soon as October 2016 being few months earlier than the date announced initially on January 2017. This advancement is due by the willingness to allow more time for parts manufacturer to comply before the deadline on 14th September 2018, when the certifications ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 version 2009 will no longer be valid.

If this new standard named IATF 16949, adopts the structure into 10 chapter of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 9001: 2015 are now two different standards about which parts manufacturers from the industry must conform it. From a point of view more operational, the companies should request from their certifying body a combined audit on the basis of 2 standards, ISO 9001: 2016 and IATF 16949 1st edition.

The new standard IATF 16949 which includes the only requirements specifically practical to the automotive industry could therefore adapt itself and develop more easily and quickly according to expectations and needs of automotive manufactures.

Euro-Symbiose partner of the IATF France and FIEV, develops for the automotive industry training products which will meet the demands of this new standard of quality management system.
